We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Publishing Coordinator (OA Support) to join our global Science Journal Publishing team.

Roles & Responsibilities
Query support: Act as first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, such as authors, editors and reviewers for Open Access and manuscript matters. Take ownership of tasks from start to finish, proactively identifying solutions and driving them to resolution. You’ll have the autonomy to solve problems while knowing when to collaborate with or escalate to management for support.
Systems and tools: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Thieme’s Open Access platform and content management systems to provide seamless day-to-day support.
Documentation and Communication: Maintain and update internal and external documentation to ensure guidelines remain accurate and effective following system go-live and during ongoing maintenance. Gather and use customer feedback to improve documentation. Work closely with colleagues to ensure changes and initiatives are well communicated.
Customer-Centric Mindset: Use researcher and customer feedback to drive excellence. You will not only maintain existing workflows but also identify, escalate, and propose improvements to ensure our processes remain best-in-class.
Quality monitoring: Monitor the Open Access process to ensure delivery of high-quality service. Create journal specific and portfolio-wide reports assessing the quality and performance on product level and prepare presentations on key results for internal use.
Global stakeholders: Close collaboration with Science Journal Publishing teams located in Stuttgart, London, New York, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, New Delhi, and Beijing as well as with colleagues in Production, Marketing, Institutional Sales etc.
Required Background & skills:
- Educated to a degree level
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
- Highly customer-oriented and pro-active
- Ability to quickly understand different and adapt to new processes, systems, their dependencies, and interaction
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail and a hands-on attitude
- Reliable and results-oriented working style
- Flexibility to respond to non-routine circumstances
